clevermanka recently linked to that site where you can make yourself a grid for fanfic trope preferences. Since this DW has effectively become the receptacle for all my fandom-related ramblings, I'm posting my own grid here. The tiles under each category are arranged in alphabetical order.

I felt like some fairly important/common tropes hadn't been offered, but, hey, gotta work with what you've got, right?

'Cept I'm one of the weirdos who loves Sex Pollen but is repelled by Omegaverse 😆. I would've liked to see Fusion (yes!) as an alternate to Crossover (nope!), but oh well!

Ever since I learned about the mechanics of Omegaverse, the only thing I felt like could read in that kind of 'verse was Alpha x Alpha. The idea of going against biological imperative and social norms because you're attracted to each other just for the sake of each other in a world otherwise dominated by pheromones and cycles sounds really interesting to me. But the "x, y, z made them do it" aspect of both Alpha x Omega and sex pollen makes my natural obstinacy and rebelliousness raise its head ^_^

I've never seen a fic with Alpha x Alpha, though. Guess it's just too similar to ordinary slash and femslash to be appealing to writers?

And, yes, fusions feel so much more natural than crossovers! I think the only occasions where crossovers work even a bit are ones where the original 'verses were connected, like Doctor Who and Torchwood.

Intended or not, the heteronormativity of Omegaverse turns me off in a big way. I'm otherwise weak for the trope of Having To Do It Because Reasons. See sex pollen and pon farr/similar (yes I lay blame for my love of both squarely and rightfully at the feet of Star Trek).

One day (ONE DAY) I wanna run with that Inception AU...

Ooh! If you ever do, and you want someone to, I dunno, exchange ideas with or something, I'd definitely be up for it! (Me, leaping at the chance of even one more plotty Guardian fic like the shamless plot-whore that I am? Surely not! ^^)

Oh, ABSOLUTELY. I think that one is a good universe for a series of one-shots like what undeadrobins is doing with the Pacific Rim AU.
